The big green building

For accomodations, it was either Shimaya Ryokan in Shibu Onsen (more authentic old style Japanese village) or Ryokan Issa-no-Komichi (aka Biyu-no-Yado) in Yudanaka Onsen  which was recommended by PRIME travel and tours from which we had taken fly-drive tours previously. We ended up booking the latter through Rakuten Travel. More info on Rakuten and Biyu.








Biyunoyado or Biyu is one of the few Ryokans in Yudanaka Onsen with a footbath for general public use. It's very clean and has natural running hot water from underground.




We had a  Japanese style Onsen Plan room with river view (above and below).







The above is a view from our second room. We switched rooms after the first night.
